Solar Repair FAQs
- My inverter has a red light — what does it mean?
- A red or flashing light typically indicates a fault condition. The specific fault code on the inverter display will narrow it down. Common causes include grid voltage issues, isolation faults, and communication errors. Call us on 1300 797 630 and we can often give you initial guidance over the phone before booking a visit.
- Do you repair solar systems you didn't install?
- Yes. We service and repair solar systems regardless of who installed them. If you've bought a property with an existing system or your original installer is no longer in business, we can take over servicing.
- How often should a solar system be serviced?
- We recommend a professional inspection every 2–3 years at minimum, or sooner if you notice a change in output or an inverter fault. Regular servicing can catch issues early before they become expensive repairs.
- Can you tell if my panels are underperforming without replacing them?
- Yes. We use electrical testing to assess output at the string and panel level. This tells us whether underperformance is a panel issue, a wiring issue, or an inverter problem — before anything gets replaced.
- My system is 8 years old and has never been looked at. Is that a problem?
- It's worth having inspected. Connector degradation and wiring wear are common in older systems, and some issues — particularly around DC isolators — can develop into safety hazards. A service inspection will give you a clear picture.
- How much does a solar repair or service visit cost?
- It depends on what's found. We charge a call-out and inspection fee and provide a written quote for any repair work before we proceed. You won't be billed for parts or labour you haven't approved.
